The Emergency Battery Backup Unit (EBBU) is specifically designed to provide at least two hours of emergency battery backup power to any ActiveLED® Light Fixture
The ActiveLED EBB Unit is managed, monitored and charged by the Power Supply in the ActiveLED fixture to ensure that the battery is kept charged in case of a power failure.
Should the AC power to the ActiveLED fixture be disconnected or fail for any reason, the Power Supply will continue to operate on battery power and will automatically adjust its output level to an emergency power-saving mode to ensure operation for at least two hours.
When the AC power is restored to the ActiveLED fixture, the Power Supply will trickle-charge the emergency battery and thereafter maintain the battery at its maximum capacity.
The EBB Unit consists of a sealed lead-acid battery and electronics in a self-contained housing that is cable-connected to an ActiveLED light fixture.
The prerequisite for the EBBU is an ActiveLED® light fixture with a power supply that has the Battery Backup support option.
LED Status Indicator
A single LED is visible from the outside of the EBBU housing to indicate the status of the battery, as follows:
