Ringdale and ActiveLED have a wealth of experience designing and manufacturing very high performance power
conversion products for AC to DC and DC to DC applications in the Solar Light Fixture, PV and Wind Generation space.
We do not engage in Grid Feed Systems! We believe that the energy loss in all the conversions and transport
make grid feed systems on a small scale economically irreconcilable.
Ringdale promotes local generation for local use or systems that use the grid as a backup which we call solar assist where you
use all the power you generate and supplement what is missing from the grid.
We have many successful multi year installation with no or very low maintenance. We can advise exactly which batteries to use and which batteries not to use.
Ringdale and ActiveLED promotes 48V DC systems over lower voltage systems due to the saving in copper wiring and
higher efficiency of the electronics. State-of-the-art 48V DC-DC conversion can be achieved with a typical efficiency of 98%
while at 12V the efficiency is reduced to 88%.
We make a range of solar ready Street Lights, Security Lights and Billboard Lights that can be operated in conjunction
with a 12V battery bank or a 48V battery bank. The lifetime of the batteries and the storage capacity required is significantly better
using 48V DC systems.
