ActiveLED® Hazardous Location Lighting designed this fixture specifically for the requirements in a mining shaft. Often fixtures are anchored directly in the shaft ceiling or walls, requiring the fixture to be of lightweight construction.
In long shafts or deep mines getting power to the last light is a challenge. Using ActiveLED highly energy efficient LED lighting vs. conventional lighting reduces the need for electrical power for lighting to the tune of 50 to 80%. The gained energy transport through existing electrical wiring can be used to extend the shaft or depth of the mine, or improve the ventilation without replacing the wiring infrastructure.
