The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED^® Lumec Nostalgia Light Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage light bulb assembly in an existing Lumec Nostalgia-style fixture, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.

Many municipalities use post-top style lamplights for roadways, sidewalks and public spaces in historical and residential neighborhoods. Typically, these lights have large acrylic globes and cast aluminum bases that conceal inefficient Metal Halide light bulbs (up to 300 Watt) needing frequent replacement.

The existing lamplight can be retrofitted with the low-wattage ActiveLED light and still have the same “old town” characteristics. The only noticeable difference in its outward appearance is a better quality of light, which helps to improve the safety value of its surroundings. Ringdale’s patented LED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours, lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.

The ActiveLED Classic Lumec Nostalgia light retrofit meets many municipalities’ latest sustainability mandates for reducing energy usage. For applications where lower light levels would be appropriate during periods of inactivity, the retrofitted lamplight can be interconnected with Ringdale’s own intelligent controller providing automatic dimming and on/off capabilities.

Removing Existing Lumec Bowl & Electronics Assembly

It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing Lumec "bowl" and electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED Lumec Retrofit , please refer to the following diagram for more details.

The existing electronics assembly will need to be disposed of safely and in accordance with local regulations.

Lumec Nostalgia Luminaire with ActiveLED^® Retrofit Technology Installed

The following pictures show a Vintage Lumec Luminaire with its original legacy electronics removed and the ActiveLED Lumec Retrofit installed and fully functional. In this diagram the ActiveLED retrofit is colored purely for identification purposes, it is manufactured from unpainted high-grade T-3003 aluminum alloy.
