ActiveLED^® SSB Series ActiveLED fixtures make off-grid solar lighting an easy reality.

With an integrated Solar Controller, the SSB Series ActiveLED light fixtures have one less system component compared to other solar light solutions, making the installation and maintenance process far simpler and less expensive. The innovative SSB Series design effectively eliminates the need for a costly separate Solar Controller.

The SSB Series Solar-Ready ShoeBox Lights are cost effective to install and have a light output similar to 75 through 600 watt HPS / HID fixtures.

Both the Solar Array and the Battery Pack connect directly to the SSB Solar-Ready fixture via low-voltage DC cables. One Solar Array (up to 220 watts and 46 Volts DC) and one Battery Pack (12 Volt DC or 48 Volt DC, 48 VDC recommended) are supported. Note that the 72/75 watt fixture will require a 24-volt battery pack (mandatory).

With its patented design and superior LED elements, the SSB Series of fixtures are a reliable light source with a 90,000-hour lumen life, making it a maintenance-free solution for applications where changing bulbs and ballasts can be hazardous and expensive.

Battery Pack Management

The ActiveLED SSB series fixtures employ a highly efficient Integrated Solar Controller / Driver that has three levels of battery charging (the following data is for room temperature):

1	Bulk Charging of the battery pack until the battery voltage reaches about 14.7 volts for a 12-volt system or about 58.8 volts for a 48-volt system.
2	Absorption charging for 2 hours.
3	Float or Trickle charging at 13.5 volts for a 12 volt system and 54 volts for a 48-volt system.

ActiveLED^® Diffuser Technology

We use state-of-the-art diffuser technology with a minimal amount of light loss within the fixture providing for maximum lighting efficiency.

To meet varying application requirements, the ActiveLED Solar-Ready ShoeBox Lights can be configured with either a clear or a "diffused" second diffuser.
The second diffuser completely seals the underside of the fixture, preventing the ingress of water, dust and insects.

The ActiveLED Light Fixture with the clear low-iron glass second diffuser maintains the uniform light pattern and increases the task pattern. This is ideal for installations where a higher light level is required at the outer areas of the light pattern as it increases luminance by 15-20%, depending on the angle of light emanating from the fixture and the installation height. The textured second diffuser provides a more "diffused" light pattern, particularly where the light fixture is installed at a height of less than 12 feet.

ActiveLED^® SSB Series ShoeBox Light Pattern Options

The ActiveLED SSB SEries Solar-Ready ShoeBox Lights are available in either Traditional, Wide or Xtra-Wide light pattern configurations.

	Traditional Pattern (Roadway Type II) - when mounted at 20 feet high, projects light 3-4 feet behind the pole and has an illumination pattern on the street-side in an arc of about 30 feet.
	Wide Pattern (Roadway Type III) - has a broad uniform light coverage. Mounted at 20 feet high, it has a very precise 1-2 foot curb-side cut-off with very little light projected behind the curb line. It has an illumination pattern on the street-side in an arc of about 40-50 feet on each side of the curb line extending to 60 feet perpendicular at 90 degrees from the curb line on the street side.
	Xtra-Wide Pattern (Roadway Type V) - has a broad uniform light coverage to the front, back, left and right of the fixture.
