The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED^® Classic "Town & Country" Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage light bulb assembly in most existing GE Exterior Post-Top fixtures, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.

Municipalities, universities and colleges use Vintage style lamplights for roadways, sidewalks and public spaces in historical and residential neighborhoods. Typically, these lights have large acrylic or glass globes and cast aluminum bases that conceal 175-Watt Metal Halide light bulbs and electronics that need frequent replacement.

The existing lamplight can be retrofitted with the low-wattage ActiveLED light engine and still have the same “old town” characteristics. The only noticeable difference in its outward appearance is a better quality of light, which helps to improve the safety value of its surroundings.
Ringdale’s patented LED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours (24/7 is 8,760 hours per year), lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.

The ActiveLED Classic "Town & Country" Light Retrofit meets many municipalities’ latest sustainability mandates for reducing energy usage. For applications where lower light levels would be appropriate during periods of inactivity, the retrofitted GE Town & Country lamplight can be configured with a digital dimmer and motion sensor.

The innovative design of the ActiveLED "Town & Country" Retrofit is fully dark sky compliant and delivers the maximum possible light to the surrounding public space while eliminating light trespass to adjacent properties.

Removing Existing GE Town & Country Luminaire Bulb & Electronics Assembly

It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing GE Luminaire electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED Town & Country Retrofit, as described below.
Before starting any disassembly / assembly work, first disconnect the AC power from the Post Top Luminaire.

•	Hinge open the top of the Luminaire.
•	Remove existing Bulb, Bulb Holder and Ballast Electronics from the base of the fixture out through the top of the fixture(details may vary slightly based on the model of Luminaire).
•	Thread the AC cabling from the ActiveLED Town & Country retrofit down the inside of the Luminaire and connect to the AC line feed.
•	Carefully lower the complete ActiveLED Retrofit assembly into the top of the Luminaire and secure to the top rim of the Luminaire using two existing machine screws.
•	Reconnect the AC power to verify that the installation is correct and the ActiveLED Retrofit is illuminated.
•	Close and secure the top of the Luminaire.

The existing electronics assembly will need to be disposed of safely and in accordance with local regulations.
