A highly efficient ActiveLED^® lighting engine for the ubiquitous Philips Gardco 22" round parking lot light - retains the aesthetics of the Luminaire while providing a 21^st century energy-saving solution for a safer "utilitarian" outdoor style light fixtures with an energy efficient, high performance LED retrofit in 26, 50 or 72 Watt versions.

The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED^® GARDCO Light Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage light bulb assembly in an existing Philips Gardco CA22 series luminaire, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.

Many malls, universities, commercial properties, car dealerships, grocery stores and municipalities use Philips Gardco luminaires for lighting parking lots, sidewalks and public spaces. Typically, these luminaires conceal inefficient Metal Halide light bulbs and ballasts that need frequent replacement.

The existing Gardco luminaire can be retrofitted with the low-wattage ActiveLED light engine and still have the same outward characteristics. The one noticeable difference will be a better quality of light, which helps to dramatically improve the safety value of its surroundings. Ringdale’s patented ActiveLED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours, lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.

The ActiveLED GARDCO light retrofit meets the latest sustainability mandates for reducing energy usage. For applications where lower light levels would be appropriate during periods of inactivity, the retrofitted lamplight can be configured with Ringdale’s own intelligent controlls - providing automatic dimming and on/off capabilities.

Philips Gardco Luminaire with ActiveLED^® Retrofit Technology Installed

The following is a Philips Gardco Luminaire with its original legacy electronics removed and the ActiveLED GARDCO Retrofit installed and fully functional.

Installing the ActiveLED^® GARDCO Retrofit Assembly

It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing Gardco electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED GARDCO Retrofit:

•	Unplug all electrical connections before starting any work on the Luminaire.
•	Open the luminaire's door assembly by disengaging 1/4-turn fasteners (2) and hinge door downwards or remove from luminaire (may vary from luminaire to luminaire).
•	Identify the existing electronics assembly (bulb, socket, mounting plate, reflector, ballast assembly and mounting screws).
•	Loosen / remove the 4 retaining screws and put them safely to one side for use in the reassembly.
•	Remove the existing electronics and dispose of safely in accordance with local regulations.
•	Connect the AC supply line to the power supply of the Retrofit (100 to 277 VAC) and carefully place the ActiveLED GARDCO Retrofit into the Luminaire, securing with existing four screws.
•	Apply AC power to verify that the ActiveLED Retrofit is working satisfactorily before closing / replacing the existing door assembly.
