Intelligent Integrated Solar Controller and LED Driver manages the charging of a 24 or 48-volt Battery Pack from a Solar Array (up to 250 Watts NOCT rating), maximizing battery life, light output and illumination time.
ActiveLED® Intelligent Integrated 1659 Solar Controller and LED Driver is specifically designed to manage and control an ActiveLED® solar-charged battery-powered light assembly. It harvests the maximum available solar energy and maximizes the available battery energy to power a nighttime light.
The ActiveLED Integrated Solar Controller can be used with any compatible Solar Panel Array and Battery Pack. The product is micro-processor controlled and provides six major functions:

Physical Overview
Integrated Solar Controller / LED Driver consists of a ActiveLED designed and manufactured PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) complete with heat sink for mounting inside an appropriate ActiveLED Light Fixture for maximum protection and heat dissipation.
The Solar Controller has external connectors for connecting to the Battery Pack and Solar Array, with factory-configured internal connections to the Light Fixture.
Solar Controller Compatibility
The ActiveLED Integrated Solar Controller / LED Driver is designed to be compatible with most 24-volt and 48-volt DC Battery Packs, which typically consists of four (4) 12 Volt DC batteries connected in series. Typical battery packs are 40 AH, 80 AH, 120 AH and 250 AH capacity, dependent upon the application. Supported Battery technology includes SLA and LiFePO4.
The Solar Array can be one or more solar panels connected in series, minimum 22 Watts to a maximum of 250 Watts.

Management - SLA Battery Pack
The highly efficient ActiveLED Integrated Solar Controller / Driver has three levels of battery charging for Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries at room temperature:
1 | Bulk Charging - of the battery pack until the battery voltage reaches about 29.4 volts for a 24-volt system or about 58.8 volts for a 48-volt system. |
2 | Absorption charging - for 2 hours. |
3 | Float or Trickle charging - at 27.0 volts for a 24 volt system and 54 volts for a 48-volt system. |
Management - LiFePO4 Battery Pack
The highly efficient ActiveLED Integrated Solar Controller / Driver version for LiFePO4 battery packs has a charging system designed specifically for these Deep Cycle Batteries at room temperature:
1 | Bulk Charging - of the battery pack until the battery voltage reaches about 29.4 volts for a 24-volt system or about 58.8 volts for a 48-volt system. |
2 | Stop charging - and monitor battery voltage. |
3 | Monitor - When battery voltage drops to 27.0 volts for a 24 volt system and 54 volts for a 48-volt system restart Bulk Charging. |
